Commissioned by Designing Motherhood, My Black Body has brought together Black mothers in the Boston area through virtual and in-person connection, exploration and cultivation of embodiment practice while supporting the development of artistic creations of honest and affirming representation.

You are invited to the Designing Motherhood exhibit occurring at Center for Architecture + Design, September 10 – November 13. The exhibit includes work from visual artist, muralist, community arts educator, and filmmaker Michelle Angela Ortiz as well as interdisciplinary artist Helina Metaferia. I have included two wooden sculptures along with a video documentary of the retreat the moms participated in. I hope you can make it to Philadelphia to see this work!
